I also want my money back, Paul. Thanks for the article. Starting on April Fools’ Day this year, our property taxes went up $87/month. Last summer, I went through all the proper channels to protest the legal limit up 10% property valuation by our local tax assessor. My “request” was denied by a panel of three “impartial” representatives of Collin County in the great state of Texas. The whole process was a circus and a complete waste of resources all around. My right to petition the government for a redress of grievances was all for show. I brought evidence of identical properties with lower assessed values. I did my due diligence. Too bad. Pay up!

To pour salt into the wound, my net paycheck in nominal dollars has been declining every year as an educator in the public school system. Every year, my local ISD gives a standard raise of $800 but medical insurance premiums go up by $1,000. Jesus and another Paul I know say that the worker is worthy of his keep, his wages. Too bad. Pay up!

We’re told that a good sermon or speech should have 3 main points and I’m on a roll.

Inflation? What inflation? “It’s transitory.” “That’s just on paper.” The effects of the 2020 COVID “stimulus” checks and the war in Ukraine have taken hold. Johnson’s Viet Nam war brought us the inflation of the 70’s. Gold went from $35 to $800 an ounce by the end of that decade. What’s happening in the precious metal markets lately? Is history repeating itself or just rhyming? Here’s the answer: Too bad. Pay up!

Have you read Rand’s Atlas Shrugged?
